Call for controls on bow and arrows as a mother kangaroo and joey fall victim to another brutal attack
2nd March 2015:
A mother kangaroo with a joey in her pouch has survived being speared by a bow and
arrow in another vicious attack in Castlemaine over the weekend. The female kangaroo
was discovered by a distraught resident during a fierce storm that hit the Central Victorian
town on Saturday night.

Australian Society for Kangaroos frontline activists kept kangaroo shooters on the move on
Tuesday night in a desperate attempt to distract them and save thousands of kangaroos and
joeys now under fre at the Puckapunyal army base near Seymour Victoria. Between 12am and
5am activists were in pursuit of shooters forcing them to abort shooting in some areas as they

20th August 2012 Results of an autopsy on a young male kangaroo removed from a death pit at Goorooyarroo Nature Reserve during this years Canberra kangaroo cull has revealed that a juvenile kangaroo was shot in the mouth shattering its jaw, bashed over the head, and then stabbed in the throat causing it to choke on its own blood and bleed to death. ACTIVISTS HALT SECOND ROO CULL
3rd June 2012 Australian Society for Kangaroos activists have halted another kangaroo cull at Canberra nature reserves for a second night running. Last night protesters entered GoorooyarRoo Nature Park after hearing shots fired within the park. 29 May 2010: Wildlife warrior Bob Irwin, father of the late Steve Irwin, has spoken out against the the Australian government and the “murderous thugs” who commit atrocities on kangaroos and other native wildlife, at a fundraiser in Sydney last week.

The RSPCA has failed to protect kangaroos across Australia and even actively supports the slaughter of millions of kangaroos and their joeys for profit by the kangaroo industry by their presence on the state Kangaroo Advisory Committees and their ongoing approval of the kangaroo industry.
