Bayles fauna park rescue

Kangaroos Bayles Fauna Park near Koo Wee Rup were on death row at over 100 Eastern Greys, now relocated Little Urchins Wildlife Sanctuary

A sedated mum and her baby await relocation to their new home.

In early 2017, over 100 Eastern Grey kangaroos at Bayles Fauna Park near Koo Wee Rup were on death row, but after intense negotiations with the fauna park committee ASK convinced them to consider relocation. Two years later, and thanks to an absolutely amazing group of volunteer vets, carers and rescuers, their relocation was completed with over 100 kangaroos and their babies successfully relocated to their new homes around Victoria including the Little Urchins Wildlife Sanctuary. We would like to take this opportunity to offer a huge and grateful thank you to the sanctuaries that took in these unwanted, discarded death row kangaroos, and to the volunteers who spent countless nights darting, transporting, weighing, worming, and watching over them until they woke up from sedation, feeding them while they reorientated and found each other again, and so much more. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts, for without you it would not have been possible.

Granny Roo was one of the 100+ kangaroos relocated from Bayles Fauna Park and lived out her amazing life with Kat and Eddy at Little Urchins Wildlife Sanctuary. You can read all about Granny and her Amazing Little Angel at the link below.
