Charleville Council slaughtered over 100 kangaroos and joeys in their local township and school in January 2016 despite community protests.

Despite intense lobbying of the Queensland Department of Environment and Heritage and the Charleville council, the submission of an alternative non- lethal kangaroo management proposal to the council, and well balanced media coverage on the issue locally, which included some brilliant letters from our members to the editor that were published opposing the killing, the Charleville Council went ahead and killed over 100 kangaroos and joeys in their local township and school in January 2016 on the grounds of human safety.

Thank you all for your letters and your efforts for this campaign.
